Neighbourhood Plan

Neighbourhood Planning is an essential procedure and a vital part of the Government’s plans to help local communities play a much stronger role in the shaping of their area. For the first time, local people can create a plan that allows them to develop planning policies that reflect the priorities of their area and real legal weight. The whole community then decides at a referendum vote whether the local authority should bring the plan into force. Having your say in how the Neighbourhood Plan is formulated reinforces the value of the plan and contrary to sceptical opinion actually carries weight in directing the path of local development. Responding to surveys and consultations demonstrates the flavour and level of interest that we have in how the area is developed and to what extent.
